Biography

Eryl Maynard was born in 1953 in Tonbridge, Kent, England, UK. She has worked with many of TV’s top comedy performers including Paul Whitehouse in all the episodes of The Fast Show, Vic and Bob, Mitchell and Webb, and Rowan Atkinson. She appeared in the cult film ‘MirrorMask’ for the Jim Henson Company playing Mrs. Bagwell, a character twice her age obsessive about cats and fairy cakes; on TV in The Bill, Eastenders, and The Sleeping Murder – part of the iconic series of Miss Marple staring Joan Hickson. Praised for being ‘attractive with an infectiously cheery personality’ in the starring role in her own one woman show at Edinburgh Fringe 2002, she subsequently has had three Afternoon Plays commissioned for Radio 4, two produced and directed by Ned Chaillet -The Chicken Woman with Matilda Zeigler, Finetime Fontaine and Jean Heywood; I Enjoyed Myself Today, with Samantha Bond; and The Running Lady with Juliet Aubrey, produced by Eoin O’Callaghan. Eryl’s Production company ‘Little Gems Yoga Productions’was responsible for the first home practice Yoga DVD aimed at benefiting pregnant and postnatal women. She has written, developed, presented and produced four extremely successful DVDs for this specialised market.
